Training for the technical staff of the Korça Regional Water Supply and Sewerage Company

Experts of State Authority for Geospatial Information(ASIG) conducted an intensive training with the technical staff of the Korça Regional Water Supply and Sewerage Company on September 22–23, 2025, in Korça.

This training focused on increasing practical skills for the collection, processing and publication of geospatial information. The program focused on the creation and standardization of water supply and sewerage network data according to the technical geoinformation standard “Utility and Governmental Services”, as well as on the use of the National Geoportal in relation to the upload, update and distribution of geospatial data.

The practical sessions consolidated methods for modeling thematic layers, quality control, metadata completion, schema unification, and clarification of publication steps in the National Geoportal, ensuring interoperability and compliance with applicable legislation.

The training covered the entire “field to publication” cycle, equipping technical teams with concrete tools for efficient management of water and sanitation infrastructure data. The next steps include technical assistance for the consolidation of data schemas and the full integration of workflows in the National Geoportal.

Training for technical staff of the Agency for Agricultural and Rural Development (AZHBR)

Experts of State Authority for Geospatial Information (ASIG) conducted on September 19, 2025, at the premises of the Agency for Agricultural and Rural Development (AZHBR), a dedicated training on the use of the National Geoportal platform.

The focus of this training was the operational functionalities of the platform, including thematic search, visualization and combination of layers, use of network services, data download and access management according to user roles. During the training, practical usage scenarios were demonstrated in support of the AZHBR work processes and practices to ensure traceability, transparency and data quality were emphasized.

The activity contributed to strengthening the technical capacities of the staff and to the implementation of good practices in the use of the National Geoportal as a central infrastructure for information and decision-making.

Training for the technical staff of the Durrës Regional Water Supply and Sewerage Compan

On September 16, 2025, ASIG held a specialized training in Durrës for the technical staff of the Durrës Regional Water Supply and Sewerage Company, with a focus on harmonizing the procedures for the creation, processing and publication of water supply and sewerage network data according to the technical standard “Urban Infrastructure and Government Services” and their integration into the National Geoportal.

The program addressed data modeling, metadata compilation, and workflows from field collection to controlled publication on the platform. This activity contributed to strengthening institutional capacities and increasing the quality, accessibility and interoperability of geospatial data.

Training for the Shkodër Regional Water Supply and Sewerage Company and technical assistance for the Municipality of Malësi e Madhe

State Authority for Geospatial Information (ASIG) held on July 31 and August 1, 2025, training with the technical staff of the Shkodër Regional Water Supply and Sewerage Company and provided technical assistance to the Municipality of Malësi e Madhe with the aim of increasing the technical capacities of local institutions in the field of geospatial information.

In cooperation with the Shkodër Regional Water Supply and Sewerage Company, a dedicated training was held for technical staff with a focus on the creation and processing of data for the water supply and sewerage network, in accordance with the state standard for technical specifications of geospatial information in Albania on the topic: “Urban Infrastructure and Government Services”. During this training, the functionalities of the National Geoportal were also presented, as an official platform for the publication and distribution of geospatial data.

Assistance was provided to the technical staff of the Malësi e Madhe Municipality with a focus on updating the local road network and identifying points of interest in the administrative territory. The support included orientation on the collection, structuring and standardization of territorial data, with the aim of integrating them into the National Geoportal and using them for local planning and administration.

These activities contributed to strengthening institutional capacities and improving the quality and accessibility of geospatial data, in accordance with the legal framework and national standards for geospatial information governance.

 

Training with the technical staff of the municipality of Përmet

The trainings for increasing the capacities of the technical staff of the country’s municipalities by the experts of  State Authority for Geospatial Information continue.

A training session with the technical staff of the Përmet municipality took place today at the premises of ASIG, where the topics covered in this training were:

  • Use and functionalities of the National Geoportal;
  • Data collection according to geoinformation topics for: Administrative units and the villages in their composition (order 4 and 5), Local road transport network;
  • Presentation of the products obtained from the Satellite Service project.

Online training with Satelogic

The Directorate of Remote Sensing Data Processing conducted on October 21, 22 and 24 an on-line training with the experts of the American company Satelogic.

The topics covered during this training were:

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI),
  • Introducing the Mark V Satellite.

The staff members of this department had the opportunity to discuss during this online meeting with the American experts of Satelogic the current state of technology in terms of AI and the use cases in the industry.

Also of particular interest to the participants was the presentation of the Mark V Satellite, its specifications and current status.

Training with the technical staff of Berat, Kuçova and Dimal municipalities

Following the initiative undertaken by ASIG with the aim of increasing the capacities of the technical staff, ASIG experts conducted today the training with the technical staff of Berat, Kuçovo and Dimal municipalities.

Representatives from the following structures participated in this training:

  • Directorate of Urban Planning, Permits and Investment Monitoring;
  • Directorate of Urban Planning;
  • Directorate of Agriculture, Forestry, Water Administration and Veterinary Service.

Training with the technical staff of Skrapar and Poliçan Municipalities

As part of the initiative undertaken by ASIG with the aim of increasing the capacities of the technical staff of local government units, ASIG experts conducted today the training with the technical staff of Skrapar and Poliçan Municipalities.

The topics covered in this training were:

  1. Acquaintance with the functionalities of the National Geoportal;
  2. Data collection according to geoinformation topics for: Administrative units and the villages in their composition (order 4 and 5), Local road transport network;
  3. Presentation of the products obtained from the Satellite Service project.

Training with the technical staff of Fushë-Arrëz Municipality

The trainings for increasing the capacities of the technical staff of the country’s municipalities by the experts of the State Authority for Geospatial Information continue.

The next training took place today, in the premises of the Fushë-Arrëz Municipality, with the participation of technical staff from:

 

  • Directorate of Urban Planning and Civil Emergencies;
  • Directorate of Immigration and Social Affairs;
  • Directorate of Forest and Pasture Administration;
  • Directorate of Public Services;
  • Legal Department;
  • Board of Drainage and Agriculture.

Training with the technical staff of Puke Municipality

ASIG experts from the sectors of National GIS, Geoinformation Standards and the Satellite Image Processing Sector were yesterday with the technical staff of the Municipality of Pukë, following the initiative undertaken by ASIG, with the aim of increasing the capacities of the technical staff of the Units of Local Government in the use of geoinformation.

During this training, ASIG experts offered the attendees direct assistance in the use of geoinformation as well as new knowledge on:

  •  Functionalities of the National Geoportal;
  •  Data collection according to geoinformation topics for: Administrative Units and the villages in their composition (order 4 and 5), Local road transport network; Identification of points of interest;
  • Presentation of the products obtained from the Satellite Service project.
