On Wednesday, on 16 March 2016 was held in Hotel "Tirana International" Hall "Classic"
The event entitled "Presentation of Unique Digital Mapping and Administrative Border according to the new territorial division."
This event was attended by the Vice /Prime Mr.Niko Peleshi, Ministry of Public Administration and Innovation, Mrs.Milena, Minister of State for Local Government,Mr.Bledi Çuçi, parliamentarian, local government leaders, representatives of state institutions who create or use geospatial information, representatives of academic institutions and education, representatives of private business in the field of geoinformation etc.
At the meeting they were also invited H.E. Jan Braathu, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway in the Republic of Albania as well as representatives of the Norwegian National Authority for Geonformation.
In his presentation, Mr. Lorenc Cala, General Director State Authority for Geospatial Information (ASIG), gave an overview about the geoinformation in 2016, the immediate need of government for making right decision in feature of public, for geospatial information based on European standards and updated, geoinformation role in solving the problems of Albanian state like as field of ownership and the direct role that has geoinformation in the services of public. Also there was a presentation of the work for the most important achievement in ASIG, highlighting achievements as the creation of the National Geoportal and publication for the first time, the 46 geoinformation services online , in support of other public institutions.
In his speech Mr. Jorgen Svendsen. representatives of the Norwegian National Authority for Geoinformation highlighted the successful cooperation with ASIG within cooperation agreement between the two authorities and the Statens willingness , who support the ASIG in the realization of its objectives.
H.E. Jan Braathu, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway in the Republic of Albania, of, highlighted the support and the projects of Norwegian Government projects, to make enable Albania's integration in EU and the importance that have geoinformation in a quality of making decision over publik services.
Mrs. Milena Harito, Ministry of Public Administration and Innovation, highlighted the importance of digitalization of the state data and offering the view service for public, in the context of economic and social development of the country, the importance of unique digital mapping solving accumulated problems and fast qualitative services to the citizens.
Mr. Bledi Cuci, Minister of State for Local Government, presented the project for the " Digital map of the new boundaries of administrative-territorial "as one of the important themes of geoinformation, the steps taken and the importance that this process have for local governance.
The Vice /Prime Mr.Niko Peleshi, in his speech thanked the State Authority for Geospatial Information (ASIG), for his achievements and emphasized that digitization is the most important projects of the government. He invited local government leaders, become part of this process and to use the geospatial information published on National Geoportal and other government platforms in the implementation of their duties and service to citizens.
